graphic design work [poster and ticket design] for gateway’s 10th anniversary play “HIBLA”last april 29th. T’was a lot of fun.
Multi-media interactive play. audience-stage-vtr(video) interaction!
translation: HIbla - “Thread”
” minsan ang buhay buhol-buholl.” - Life gets tangled up sometimes.
directed and written by: Sam Bagtas [rhymister.tumblr.com]
assistant director and co-writer: Yours truly
Production art director: Bong Codamon
Lights and sounds technical director: Darven Fetalvero
Media editing: Sam B, Yours truly, and Arye cimfranca [arye762.tumblr.com]
With a working budget of zero but with 100 percent passion, talent, and resourcefulness; the youth pulled of their first multi-media interactive play for the church’s 10th anniversary last April 29.
The kids from sunday school cut up magazines and crepe paper for confetti. One of the artists I mentor, Bong, manually painted the banners beside the stage on the rear of old tarps and made confetti-release contraptions with crepe paper and strings. The technical team, with a little art-and- craft and electronics knowledge, made a gizmo from a cardboard box and P.C. cooling fans that made the smoke from our smoke-machine crawl. All dialogue and background music were pre-recorded so the kids would just lip-sync their lines and act. The band who played the finale were also the props-men throughout the play. The costumes were bought at the ukay-ukay [thrift-shop stalls], the angel’s(dancers) dresses were sewn from old white curtains their moms hid away. We have only one follow-spot[spot-light] so our old over-head projector was retro-fitted to become spotlight number 2.
We are all created with that innate creativity. After all, we are created in the image of the Creator.
and like Rico blanco’s song said,
“kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw palaging mayroong dahilan.”[translated:if there’s a will there’s a way. Where there is inaction there are always excuses.]

at Maria&cristoff’s wedding. My pastor’s the solemnizing official, Sir nexter’s [far right] our savvy host, Sam’s [our multimedia-arts director] the violinist, Jon [head peeking in lower left] is our awesome pianist, and myself, the vocalist.
A little fun before the ceremony, playing “bodyguard” around our mentor, Pastor Sohl.
Honor and you will be honored.
“a (army’s) charge may often be successful though the men dislike their officers; a battle has rarely been won, unless they loved their general.”- JOhn Ruskin
yesterdays service(s) were awesome, 3 different speakers [myself included] with different passages but just one message. HONOR.
to honor is to love and to love is to obey. there is no honor without loving submission.

Luke 10:17-20
17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
I spoke about the acts of the apostles last sunday at the 7:45am service, not knowing that friday of that same week I’d live it. Its one thing to study about spiritual matters in the School of leaders program and in discipleship w/ my mentor and its another to actually encounter it and wrestle* with it [*in spirit and in flesh]
by wrestling, try picturing the strength of three well-built men just to hold down one child. The spirits tormenting the child were feeding of his pain, abandonment issues, and hate. It even brought up to each of us our broken past to bring us down but one thing it could not argue to us about was our blood-bought victory over ‘them’. It kept covering his ears whenever our Savior’s name was declared against them.
the invisible “armor of God” became very visible that night. “they” attacked the mind, the heart, and the truth we bore. It makes more sense to me now.
As Martin Lawrence said in the ‘bad boys film’, “S*** just got real.” and like the story in the movie good always wins and light always overcomes darkness.
a short clip we made for the youth gig’s film fest last year :) sulyap (trans: Glimpse)
plot: Guy gets dumped by girlfriend. and doesn’t want to go to cellgroup anymore and ends up having a glimpse (sulyap) into the world’s end.
